AirAsia Recognised with Two Safety & Health Administration Awards by TAT, Further Affirming Passenger Confidence

BANGKOK 11 March, 2022 - AirAsia Thailand has received ‘The Best of SHA Awards 2021’ recognition for air transportation and ‘The Best of SHA 3-Star recognition’ for businesses with above average adherence to the safety and health administration (SHA) standards by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), affirming its outstanding health and safety standards.

The awards program was organized by TAT in acknowledgement of tourism businesses prioritizing compliance with Amazing Thailand SHA measures.

Mr. Krid Pattanasan, Head of Government Relations, AirAsia Thailand, stated that “AirAsia has always devoted utmost importance to health and safety to ensure travel confidence amongst our guests. Care towards health and safety is observed from ground staff through to flights with all contact points routinely disinfected and high-efficiency HEPA filters used to remove 99.99 percent of all contaminants from cabins.”

“On behalf of AirAsia, I’d like to express my gratitude to the Tourism Authority of Thailand for these awards, which affirm our high-quality service and highlight our attention to health and safety. We have adopted innovation to reduce contact in acknowledgement of present circumstances and the demands of our guests and we assure that we will continue to maintain these standards for the confidence of all those who choose to fly with us,” Mr. Krid said.

AirAsia Thailand previously received its Amazing Thailand Safety & Health Administration (SHA) certification from Tourism Authority of Thailand and Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health executives in January of 2021.

The Best of SHA Awards 2021 were presented to businesses with SHA certification as evaluated by a Voice of Customer (VOC) survey and a panel of distinguished judges. The awards covered the 10 categories of restaurants and diners, hotel accommodation and homestay, recreational activities and tourist attractions, transportation, travel agencies, health and beauty, department stores and shopping centers, sport for tourism, activity/meeting and theater/entertainment, and souvenir and other shops.

Earlier February 2022, AirAsia Malaysia, Thailand, and Philippines also received the significant recognition for their robust and comprehensive Covid-19 mitigation plans, with highest levels of safety and operational integrity with a 7/7 rating from the experts at airlineratings.
