BANGKOK, 27 January 2022 - AirAsia and the Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support the “Association to Send Love, Delivering Breast Milk from Mothers to Children” in delivering breast milk for  infants. From today, AirAsia will be transporting frozen breast milk across its Thailand domestic network,  free of charge to users registered to LINE account @anamaimilk, in strict adherence to all department regulations.

Head of People and Culture AirAsia Thailand, Mrs. Thiladee Pantumchinda, stated that “There are many current contexts for this service, such as working far from home or attending important engagements, that make it inconvenient for mothers to breastfeed their children, as well as matters of time and storage that impact the nutritional quality of breast milk when transported. AirAsia, as the carrier with the most domestic routes and regional connections, has resolved to work with the Department of Health in a drive to deliver breast milk across the Kingdom at no charge for this important cause.

“Our airline has had many opportunities to work with the Department of Health on transporting breast milk over the past years, starting with shipments to the northeastern region and now the entire nation. The effort has received strong support, even amid the COVID-19 situation, and we are very proud to be playing a small part in alleviating this cost for mothers and helping children to be able to drink their mothers’ milk no matter how far they may be from one another. Our transportation is operated with the highest health standards and at great speed” Mrs. Thiladee said.

Anyone who wishes to have their breast milk transported at no cost by AirAsia simply has to follow these five steps; 1. Register with LINE account @anamaimilk, 2. Review transport routes and schedules using airasia Super App, 3. Pack frozen milk using a foam container with dry ice or cool packs according to Department of Health guidelines (containers must not exceed 10 kg. per piece, no limit on containers to be transported), 4. Deliver the filled container to an AirAsia airport check-in counter at least 2 hours before the flight departure time, and 5. Receive the transported container at an AirAsia airport ticketing counter or review details of the transport using LINE account @anamaimilk. Breast milk may also be transported via the association’s other members, Everyday Doctor Co. Ltd. and Nakhonchai Air Co. Ltd.
