BANGKOK 25 September, 2020 - AirAsia takes the lead as the only airline to serve flights to and from Bangkok from both Don Mueang Airport (DMK) and Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) with the announcement of four routes connecting the capital city to Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi and Surat Thani at an inauguration ceremony today.

Effective today, there will be five daily flights from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, three daily flights from Bangkok to Phuket and two daily flights connecting Bangkok to Krabi and Surat Thani respectively.

Aside from ramping up its domestic service in Thailand, AirAsia also expressed its readiness to resume international connections in the near future to cater for both business and leisure travellers, when conditions improve and travel restrictions are lifted.

AirAsia Thailand Chief Executive Officer, Santisuk Klongchaiya said, "While the overall tourism industry is slowly recovering, we are proud to announce additional service from Suvarnabhumi Airport apart from the existing flights from Don Mueang Airport, which offers greater convenience to guests. We are very pleased with the response thus far with load factors averaging over 70 percent for all the four new routes, signifying a great start and healthy future growth for us at Suvarnabhumi.
