Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of Thai AirAsia, said: “Vietnam is one of AirAsia’s key strategic markets, with travel demand consistently rising among both Thai and international travelers. We’ve been looking for new destinations with strong tourism and economic potential, and Hai Phong—a major northern port city and Vietnam’s third-largest city—stood out as an exciting opportunity.
“Thai AirAsia will be the only airline offering direct flights between Bangkok and Hai Phong, further solidifying our position as the airline with the most direct routes to Vietnam. With this addition, we now connect Bangkok to six vibrant Vietnamese cities. Based on the strong demand for our existing Vietnam routes, which saw an average load factor of 90% in the first two months of 2025, we expect a fantastic response from travelers for this new route as well,” Mr. Santisuk added.
Nestled in northern Vietnam, Hai Phong is a dynamic coastal city known for its cool climate, vibrant local food scene, and easy access to world-famous Halong Bay—just a 50-minute drive away! The city blends modern attractions with rich culture, making it perfect for every type of traveler—whether you're looking for theme park thrills or a laid-back escape enjoying Vietnamese coffee and street food.
Thai AirAsia currently operates direct flights from Bangkok to six cities in Vietnam, including Hanoi (21 flights per week), Ho Chi Minh City (21 flights per week), Da Nang (21 flights per week), Nha Trang (7 flights per week), Phu Quoc (7 flights per week), and now Hai Phong (4 flights per week).
