Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of Thai AirAsia, stated AirAsia will be readily expanding domestically this year with Suvarnabhumi to be central to the strategy due to its domestic growth potential and ability to accommodate international arrivals looking to continue onward to other regions of the country. The focus also reinforces the AirAsia strength of convenience. By providing service from both Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi airports, the airline has been able to create the most extensive domestic network in Thailand with 37 routes (including the latest introductions).
“AirAsia will continue adding routes until all regions of Thailand, from north to northeast and south, are served from Suvarnabhumi, for the convenience of our guests. These additions also grow our domestic network. In 2024, AirAsia held a 40% share in the domestic market and we will be reaching out to even more customers in the coming year” Mr. Santisuk said.
AirAsia now serves a total nine routes from Suvarnabhumi Airport, flying to Chiang Mai up to 8 times a day, Phuket 6 times a day, Krabi 3 times a day, Hat Yai up to 2 times a day, Udon Thani 2 times a day, Khon Kaen 2 times day and to the latest additions, Surat Thani 1 time a day, Narathiwat 1 time a week, and Buriram 1 time a day.
On top of featuring an extensive domestic network, AirAsia boasts on-time performance, being the only Thai airline to be ranked among the Top 5 for on-time performance in Asia Pacific by Cirium, while at the same time being named World’s Best Low-Cost Airline 2025 and a safety conscious airline by AirlineRatings.com, affirming the value offered to guests.
